The Grey Gauntlets

The Grey Gauntlets is an adventure, mercenary and questing guild, founded by Ravin Chaar, Enalis Tavesshir, Qu'shaar'een, and four others.
They mainly take on mercenary tasks. Escort, fighting off raiders, retrieving people and objects from dangerous locations, assisting in defensive conflicts, bounty hunting, and other similar tasks. They will also lend out their members to bulk up the ranks of small militia activities, and sometimes have even loaned their warriors for actual wars between small nations, again only in defensive terms, the guild has always refrained from supporting active belligerents or invaders.
The guild is around 100 years old by now. But is only a few hundred members in size. Fluctuating between 200-300. This because despite its longevity, it has a rather brutal reputation for taking risky quests, not sharing loot equally, offering very little protection to its members, outright abandonment of allies, and even breaches of contract if quests become no longer profitable.
The guild, over its 100+ years, has had over two thousand members run through its ranks. With the majority only staying for a decade or less, and a significant fatality rate of around 15%. The fatality rate is not per mission, but of the thousands of members, around 15% of memberships end in death.
