Shianti Armor

Shianti, or elf is constructed of lacquered/hardened wood, shaped to fit a humanoid form. The preparation process hardens the wood to be as strong as steel without increasing the weight or diminishing the flexibility of material. This produces and armor as strong as steel without encumbering the user any more than boiled leather armor.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Shianti armor confers the following attributes.

• Movement restriction equal to leather, -1 to Dex based skills
• Protection equal to Chain Armor, 5 pd / 5 ed

Significance

The Shianti Armor is common among the warriors of the Shianti Empire. Warriors of each house wear armors that are brightly colored, with the house colors of their ruling noble house. Those not aligned with a House will commonly forgo this armor, or scratch, burnish, or paint the armor in order to conceal the original color.

Given this type of armor's symbolism, most Shianti, or elf take offense at it being used by other peoples.
