Shards of Light

The Shards of Light consist of five separate crystal shards, eight to ten inches in length and three inches in diameter.

The shards are the following colors: red, black, green, blue, and transparent. Under examination, they hshow that they have been magically fortified and strengthened. They are exceedingly difficult to damage, but at different times in history they have been cracked.

They were destroyed completely by Dalistaron Kamenminya in MS 5064.

History

The crystals have been central to the unification of the Shianti Empire, and have been held by the Emperor since the inception of the empire.

Shards of Light are Stolen occurred early in MS 5064, but were recovered by The Doomsday Dalesmen. In December of MS 5064, Dali Destroys the Shards of Light.

Significance

The Shards are considered holy to the Shianti Empire, and are central to many patriotic ceremonies. Each crystal is considered to represent one of the Shianti, or elf subraces, with the following equivalencies.

• The ebony crystal represents the Illthyri, Shianti subrace
• The green crystal represents the Perenni, Shianti subrace
• The blue crystal represents the Doreni, Shianti subrace
• The transparent crystal represents the Soreni, Shianti subrace
• The red crystal represents the blessings of Turkama, Tulek, on the Shianti Empire
