Non-Magical Armor Augments
Armor come in a variety of standard categories. But, skilled smiths can vary the execution from standard designs in order to create specialized effects. Normally, these mundane variations result in an augmentation of one effect with the sacrifice of another. For example, a stronger armor may result in more protection but with a diminishment of Dexterity.
