Lipern apprenticed himself to Francois Gaston while The Circle was travelling through Varetta in MS 5083. He was originally apprenticed to a baker but wanted to see the world.
On their travels to Hammerdal, Diane made arrangements for his safety while The Circle was away for a mission. Lipern has never forgotten.
