Repeating Crossbow

The Rock Gnomes turned their ingenuity and mechanical expertise toward designing a unique weapon to defend their home burrows against kobolds. goblins, and anyone else who might threaten them. The repeating crossbows they designed are among the most unique weapons in the world and the secrets to their design and maintenance are closely guarded among the engineers that build them. Like a common crossbow repeating crossbows come in both light and heavy variants but are a little bit weaker than a typical weapon of their type. The unusual weight distribution of the weapon and the bolt reservoir located on top make it difficult for the untrained user to properly aim.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Both the light and heavy repeating crossbows hold 10 bolts within a hopper located on top of the weapon that feed downward with each successive shot. As long as the weapon holds enough ammunition it may be used with the extra attack ability. Once empty a repeating crossbow gains the Loading property until the wielder uses an action to refill the hopper with bolts.   The light repeating crossbow does 1d6/piercing and has the following properties, Ranged Weapon (30/120), Ammunition, Two-Handed Weapons    The heavy repeating crossbow does 1d8/piercing and has the following properties Ranged Weapon (80/320), Ammunition, Two-Handed Weapons
