Trift

  Trift is a hamlet located on the edge of the Parched Expanse which borders the Wildlands. The hamlet is centered on the road going through the desert, once you enter the desert there isn't any civilization until you emerge on the other side. The hamlet survives almost entirely of travelers and their own grown crops, everybody knows everyone in Trift so strangers stick out.  

Demographics

  Many different races have found their home in Trift, taken into count the hamlet is very small. Tabaxis, Gnomes, Dwarfs, Humans, Lizardfolk and even a few Dragonborn lives in Trift. Everyone knows everyone and the people here are very welcome and tolerant yet, the villagers keep an close out on strangers. Many criminals come across this town, so they are used to their far share of crime.  

Defences

  A single outpost north east of the hamlet overlooks the immediate area, although not always manned.   The people of Trift do fear that the Orcs from the north west will someday encroach on their land.  

Industry & Trade

  The villagers of Trift mostly make their living from the tavern and the farmlands surrounding the hamlet. These lands aren't particular fertile for normal crops, but are perfect for growing fruits which are only found in the desert. These fruits contain a very high water content and can stay ripe for long without going bad. Travelers often buy these fruits since they are rare within the desert, among with other supplies before heading through the desert. The only place of trade besides the inn, is a shamble of a shed that provides simple repairs for needing villagers and travelers.   After the rumors of the Dust Devil of the Parched Expanse started more than 10 years ago, the hamlet has it's own guides services and hired protection for merchants and alike traversing the desert.    

Geography

  The area around Trift is very uneven with small hills, the ground is somewhat sandy a mix between steppe and desert.
