The Fall of Estaire

Ithyra sacks the city of Estaire and extinguishes the Everlasting Fire. In response, Evanore bathes the city in fire, putting an end to the first city in recorded human history.

Ithyra, having conquered the city, discovers Nissa as a prisoner in the tower and releases her. The goddess is grateful and offers her a blessing of wealth and power, and also tells her that in order to ensure that the House of Ren never rises up against her, she must go to the temple and exstinguish the Everlasting Fire. Ithyra is reluctant, but does as the goddess advises. Within a few days, the mountain above starts to smoke, and Ithyra evacuates as many as she can from the city before the mountain erupts. The entire city is buried.
