Mage

Imagine a world where the good defeat the evils and all are prosperous. A world where farmers fields are full of goodness and they talk of their days work in the inn with gentry and nobles. A world where women work the lands with men because they enjoy the sun on their backs and company of their husband. A world where all the children play together without stories of evil monsters in the woods. A world where knights search only for holy relics and perform good deeds for the low born and the high equally. A world where the sun is the only force that scorches the ground. The people of Mage imaging this world too when they have time.   Not all is dark here, many places are filled with the light of goodness but all know that the dark is waiting to snuff out the candles left unprotected. The knights once trained to protect their country from invading armies are now found in dark forests and deep caves in battle with creatures of chaos and those who have fallen for the dark gods promises. Whilst the nobles prance the upper streets of the large cities in their brightly coloured silks those born in the twisting back streets fight for scraps too eat in rags and bare feet. But they are saved from time to time by heroes who share not only stories of great horrors overcome and princesses and the occasional prince saved from doom, but also shared coin and food.   The world is large and not all of its secrets are yet known. Not all of its dark corners, snow capped mountains, rolling hills or deep forests visited. There are many who travel far and wide looking for things of value, they may be of gold, they may be of magic they may be of knowledge. But all who search know of the dangers that could be around the next corner.
