Using Magick to Increase Attributes
Mages can use an Effect to increase their Attributes given the appropriate Spheres. Life 3 enables a Mage to alter their own Attributes while Life 4 enables them to alter another character's Attributes. Mind 1 enables a Mage to alter their mental Attributes in the same way, while Mind 4 enables them to alter another character's mental Attributes the same way.
When raising or lowering Attributes, the Mage may add or subtract one dot to an Attribute per success on the Effect roll. The default duration for these alterations is One Scene. A Mage can increase the duration of the Effect by spending additional successes on the Effect roll as per the Dividing Successes Rule: 1 success increase the duration to One Day, 2 successes increase the duration to One Story, 3 successes increase the duration to six months, 4 successes increase the duration to a year or more, and 5 successes can make a change permanent.
Permanent increases to an Attribute must be purchased with Experience Points, otherwise the recipient will fall victim to Pattern Bleed if not fed a steady stream of Quintessence. Experience Point costs to buy Attributes increased by Magick cost half their usual cost.
