Tribunys Empire

(Byzantine Empire) The youngest of the major nations of Magadrinn, the Tribunys Empire is named for the Elven Son of Kyrn, Tribunys V, who led his army of religious zealots in revolt against Kyrntannis. The Elven Civil War last only a short time, but it was profoundly vicious.   In the end, with his god, Kyrn, at his back, Tribunys won freedom from Meridorn and the rest of Kyrntannis. Proclaiming himself emperor, he set his throne in the holy city of Tanniselm on the East Elven Islands (where the capital of Kyrntannis once resided). The Elven Church dominates the empire, with priests controlling much of the political systems, with the Tribunys Emperor as its head.   In the centuries since the schism, the Tribunys Empire has mended its relationship with Kyrntannis. They have open trade and borders, thought the Tribunys Elves look down on their cousins and see humans and other races as markedly inferior and worthy only of scorn.   Much to the contentedness of the other nations, the Tribunys Empire seems to have little interest in the affairs of others.
