Scope
The motivation behind building Madeis
For getting a better understanding for the world of my story- the Champion. And to organize the history and people of Madeis.
Madeis's Unique Selling point
The main hook of my world is the idea of what it means to be the Champion- the sudo savior and messiah of the world. The Champions are by no means saints, but nor are they villains. The Chosen one trope is one of the most popular ones in fantasy, and also creating anti-chosen ones. With the Champion, no one really knows why they're there, or why they have to be there. All that's known is that they're a super powerful magi (magic user) and they don't need any channels (think magic wands or anything else like it) to perform magic unlike everyone else. People have tried to create an idea of what the Champion is, and even some Champions have enforced their own ideals. But the original purpose of the Champion has been lost, or there was never one to begin with.
Theme
Genre
The Champion is a fantasy story. During the main story, the world has an early 1900s vide to them- technology now includes the rise of automobiles and radio. However, for the lower classes, many of these technologies are luxuries they cannot afford.
Recurring Themes
Sense of duty and responsibility in a perceived position of power
Character Agency
The ideas of destiny or fate are not very prominent considering I have the Chosen One trope in play. The closest the story brushes on themes of destiny is the marks all potential Champions carry. A common point is that the future is determined by internal and external reasons- most prophecies are vague that anything could fulfill them.
