rat

A rat is a nearly ubiquitous, opportunistic rodent that has adapted almost perfectly to live in and around major population centers.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Rats are slender rodents, usually larger than mice, with a pointed head, large eyes, and prominent ears. They are covered in fur except for their paws and the tail. Rats also possess prominent front teeth that grow throughout their lifetime, requiring them to chew constantly to keep them worn down.

Ecology and Habitats

Rats are found in virtually every environment except deserts, tundra, and polar regions. Because of their fecundity and adaptability, they have thrived in most major population centers, scavenging food stores alongside snacking on insects and other Vermin.
