Magical Diseases

As magic has permeated the world, so too has it soaked into the world of disease and illnesses, making certain afflictions more dangerous or more difficult to cure than afflictions with more mundane origins. In particular, some of the most virulent contagions are carried as part and parcel with the very nature of certain creatures that prey particular on sapient creatures, either as a way to make more of themselves or as a vector to carry a related curse. Magical diseases typically cannot be cured by conventional healing methods once they take hold, but a seasoned veteran in healing magic may be able to identify these afflictions, and the means by which they might be cured, if any.
