cobra
A cobra is a type of venomous snake marked by its powerful venom and its tendency to rear up and display a rather impressive hood when threatened. It is one of the more feared of the common snakes of Khaphtela and commonly taken as pets by gorgons.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The cobra is a heavy-bodied snake with an oval-shaped head and golden-brown scales. An adult cobra can grow to be over 7 feet in length, and when its hood is open one can see a distinct marking on the back of its neck.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Cobras have a keen sense of smell and can see in the dark. While they are deaf, they can feel vibrations through the ground.
