Commandments of Malar

Excise revenge on those who deserve it.
Shape those around you by your image, not by your actions.
Be thorough.

MALAR IS IMPULSIVE Malar is one of the youngest gods in the pantheon, being only around 500 years of divine as of 3057. Malar is often portrayed as a human man, with shoulder-length red hair and wears a large brimmed hat made of interwoven river fibers. He wears a large bear pelt over his shoulders that forms a sort of cowl with the head of the bear splayed behind his head. He wears a thick corded rope around his neck with a mummified bear paw hanging from it, a few odd charms hang from it as well.   Malar is a god of frustration and rage, usually not worshipped by kind or peaceable people. His ascension was caused by the fact that he was a relentless hunter and nearly cleared away an entire country's worth of large wild animals in Oncol. He was sought out by Mystra, Weavespinner - as she felt a ripple in the necromantic webs of the arcane as he went around killing all he could. She saw him for the excellent hunter he was and offered him a job. Should he be able to complete it, she would grant him status as a god and bestow him with divine power and ever-lasting life. She tasked him with hunting down the World Egg, something that he could only find if he stilled the bloodlust of his heart. Surprisingly, to Mystra, it was his rage and insatiability that allowed him to find it. When he was confronted with it, he even showed more self-control than Mystra could have ever envisioned for him to have. Having found the World Egg and not destroying it as Mystra had implied for him to do, Mystra (smugly,) bestowed him with the title of Trist of the Beast.   Malar found himself frustrated that he didn't have any worshippers given sometime after his ascension. Trying to build himself into popularity and into the common person's pantheon, he created Changelings out of mud from the river of his home town.
