Welcome to the world of Lyceia
This world was a work that began as a fun idea for a campaign setting in which the gods have somewhat recently removed themselves from the everyday affairs of its inhabitants. Considering the supremacy of elves their fault for introducing the extended lifespans and powerful magics, the gods decided it best to seed a new race known as humans and to recuse themselves to witness their development from afar. This plan was sabotaged when one of the gods introduced dark magic to humankind, forcing the gods to intervene in an attempt to restore some sort of balance of power.
War of the Gods
The events of this age culminated in a great war pitting factions to form amongst the gods and leading the deaths of many. Three lesser gods rose to the challenge and sealed the leader of teh dark gods away and ascended into the greater pantheon of Lyceia. Pelor, who showed true leadership and who guided the way to victory, Mellandra, whose love for the sanctity of life guided her actions, and Kord, master of strategy and combat, became patron gods of nearly every corner of Lyceia. To tip the balance of power back to midline, they introduced healing and light magic to humans as well. It is unknown whether this will prove benevolent or destructive...
