Timbercliff
Timbercliff is located at the northern-most tip of the Main Line. Most of the city sits at the base of (and is somewhat built into) a cliff which forms the Adrian border, and therefor does not fall under the martial law of western Brauron. Consequently, it is an especially popular place for beleaguered soldiers of the Brauron Line to come and cut loose - as well as for all those who seek to benefit from or take part in such activities. Over time this has led to Timbercliff becoming something of a destination for visitors from far and wide. Among the city's many attractions, the most popular and famous is The Great Hyena Inn and Tavern.
Despite Timbercliff's reputation for frivolity, it's western edge is the most heavily fortified location in all of the Republic that is not officially a part of the Brauron Line. The soldiers that crew these fortifications live in stark juxtaposition to those who come to Timbercliff to revel - some struggling not to be drawn in themselves, thereby compromising their duties, and others holding withering disdain for the recklessness carrying on around them. Either way, while on duty there is no distinction between those who guard the walls of the main line where it meets the cliff's base and those who man the walls on the Brauron-controlled clifftop. There are even specialized flying units that move swiftly along the obstructions built into the cliff's sheer face, should any would-be invaders prove strong or nimble enough to attempt such an incursion.
