The Great Hyena (Inn/Tavern/Gaming)

The Great Hyena is arguably the most famous inn and tavern in all of Adria. Being located in the city of Timbercliff, the famed establishment is the single most popular location for the intermingling of soldiers from the Brauron Line (under martial law) and the less harsh Main Line of the Republic. But over time the appeal of this place has spread far and wide, and nearly all of Timbercliff's visitors will spend at least a little, if not all, of their time here.

In addition to the uninterrupted frivolity, The Great Hyena also serves as a prime location to seek out adventurers, mercenaries, and the like. At the same time, the combination of freely-flowing alcohol and the constant one-upmanship of soldiers from various defensive lines has bred a culture of tall-tale-telling (with every possible degree of merit). Differentiating the brave from the braggarts and the trustworthy from the conniving requires shrewd discernment.

The Great Hyena is also one of the largest structures to be built into the cliff face that dominates the city. Tall, sprawling, and well-lit day and night, the architecture strikes an impressive image that further adds to the establishment's prestige.
