Wavemeet

Wavemeet, the town of the Circus and Sea Monsters. This port town has a navy and a ferry that services all of Lunrmyre, and now has a grand circus thanks to the new mayor, Borus Bareneck. Here, travellers are invited to gander at the strange wonders in the circus, as well as partake in the relaxing tavern experience and hear lore of sea monsters past. Wavemeet is a portside town on the eastern edge of Lunarmyre, with a vibe that presents a mix of sea shanties, circus mystique, and mysteries of the sea. While less advanced than the other facets of Lunarmyre, it is developing into a bastion that spearheads seaside threats, and brings new ideas to the island that the island has never seen before. It has a system of waterways that integrates sailing and the sea into its very lifestyle; with boats, gondolas and mounts traversing the watery streets that make up the sea-soaked town of Wavemeet, where sea shanties can be heard echoing over the crashing waters.

Government

This city is run by Borus Bareneck of the noble bareneck family, who works to reform the once declining town with good intentions, using theatrics, revised fishing and sea monster hunting techniques, and combining it with the magical style that King Dax practices for the Zenith region, the pair work together to make this town a wondrous place; a shadow of its former self Borus Bareneck has worked to change the old unfair policies and made them more beneficial for all, and not just the ruling family. He is a very new leader, the newest amongst any currently overseeing a city or town within Lunarmyre and is very inexperienced. He has done much in his two years to enact many new laws and policies, and has tried opening many housing districts and brought guilds in to stimulate more economic growth. While the changes are slow and Wavemeet isn't as dismal as before, many residents see the radical changes as unwelcome after a long time of living the same way.

Defences

Lunar Knights: Though few in number, the Lunar Knights stationed here focus on magical defenses against sea monsters and pirates. Navy: Sunken Shore maintains a formidable fleet to guard against sea monster attacks and pirate raids. Its ships ar equipped with harpoons and enchanted cannons deigned to take down large creatures. Sea-Faring warriors: Many of the town’s defenders, especially the tavern and circus owners, are seasoned sailors and mercenaries, proficient in naval combat and accustomed to fighting aquatic threats. Geographic Advantage: The town’s location by the sea ensures most threats come from the water, allowing the town to focus its defenses in that direction. The rough coastline and dangerous waters deter most would-be invaders.

The town makes its staple on the waterborne flora and fuana here; things such as waterweed, a common alchemical reagent are grown in and sold in bulk. Guilds and Factions

The Noble Bareneck Family

History

Wavemeet has long served as a bastion against things of the sea, and uses the bounties of the sea in its favor. In its early days, sea monsters made it difficult for sailors to make a living and even dissipated citizens regularly. The Bareneck family also used to be rotten to its core, and the large number of creatures who were not human were especially treated with disrespect. Because this town offered the most work for creatures that were not human, this become a place for many strange creatures and those with afflictions and ailments to gather and try to make a living. Things seemed dim for a long time, with good food being sparse and the overall ecnomy being unstable. The king sent support, but it was not distributed evenly and things were awry. In recent years, Borus, the son of the former mayor took over after his father fell ill and died in his sleep. Since then, he has worked to reform the town and its residents with many projects that have the purpose of revitalization and stimulation. He worked with an eccentric man to make a circus to make the town brighter, and even a source of attraction. He expanded upon the ferry business to make it go around the entire island, unlike before where it was selective. He also brought all of the guilds to bring more of a presence, and thus enhanced the growth of the overall town. Capable warriors eventually gathered to fight off sea mosnters, and the town now feels safe and bustling. Distractions and the Sea Because the sea used to hold such grim notions for Lunarmyre and especially the residents of Wavemeet, the current mayor has made sure to turn such tales into legends of beasts conquered, to provide entertainment and distractions, and to show that they control the sea. The sea is a main source of income in many forms, but does hold many hidden dangers. Thus, the mayor has a naval force ready at all times, and makes sure to make tales out of any hunters of fishermen who get something from the area like a giant shrimp or the likes to show that the sea isn’t to be feared. He's even gone to far as to partner with an eccentric but mysterious carnival host with his own carnies, some of which have seen better days. Yet, the shows they put on are spectacular, the food is one of a kind, and the potions and materials have made boomed the economic growth so much, that many have forgotten their worries of the sea.

Architecture

Wavemeet consists of weathered wood structures reinfoced with iron, with some of the seafarers quarters consisting of pathwork homes built from scavenged ship pats and diftwood. Nets and tools hang from nearly every surafce around the shipyards, and magic-infused docks golow faintly at night, warding off deep-sea threats. The Circus is gaudy and colorful, decorated with bright banners and magical lights. The Bareneck manor, rebuilt, is gothic-style with dark wood and coral-stone walls. A tall lighthouse-like tower overlooks the bay, its light magically enhanced.

Geography

A town next to the sea, it stands amongst a hilly grassland near many geographical features like mountains, lakes and others. It stands on a relatively flattened series of acres of land, and gets the breeze from the sea often. There is a port by the ocean on its eastern side, where a small navy of ships lies next to a port where there is a ferry. The town has a wooden spiked wall surrounding it, and had been recently restructured. It still has a ghetto side to the south that is being renovated to have better housing, but still is not desirable. Many new homes, shops, and restaurants line the streets made of brick and stone. The mayors house lies near the port, and is a decent estate made of fine wood, set apart from the town. A large gazebo that takes up several blocks and its surrounding area makes up the cirus, which is the newest structure in Wavemeet
