The Silent Sea

The Silent Sea is a erratically appearing spot in the Oceans of Lumen Orbis where all natural currents are disrupted by magic Depthwalkers use to move around the ocean. This Magic causes from time to time that currents break apart as parts of them are redirected by the Depthwalker.   This entrails that inside these Areas, the magic of the Depthwalkers does not work as creating entirely new currents is too great of an exhaustion to keep up for long. The Depthbreakers, known to hunt Depthwalkers can operate within these areas as their muscular finned bodies do not require the aid of currents to move. Thus, they are know to lure and drive Depthwalkers into these areas to deprive them of most of their magic.

Erscheinungsform

The Water in this areas is only being moved close to the surface by the waves but further down the water is stagnant and unmoved, creatures being able to swim on their own are unaffected but others that ride currents get stuck in these zones and have to wait for the currents to normalize, which can take from a few hours up to even a few days.

Lokalisierung

The Silent Sea can appear all through the Bottomless Ocean, sensitive creatures can feel the shift of the currents. The affected area is not clearly geometrically defined and usually has loose borders that shift during its existence.

Reminds me of doldrums, that are areas with basically no winds near the equatorial line. But doldrums don't have any magic involved, I suppose.

Using Depthwalker and Depthbreakers is a bit confusing. I would recommend having at least links to the critters that those are as I have no idea what they are as is. The idea is interesting but some what confusingly stated. I assume that what you meant is that the use of Depthwalker magic makes silent sea area's to appear down stream of the effected current from time to time creating areas where the Depthwalkers can use their magic and get stuck do to the lack of tide. Which is not the most clear thing in the article. Also I have to assume that is what is happening because Depthwalker magic is not explained. That said I do find the idea very interesting and based on what you are saying here I wonder how this effects other critters. I also like the statement of the area's lack of easily defined geometry. Good job just needs some rewording to make it more clear and some links I think. In case you don't know you can type @ and then the name of another article to link it and it will auto-suggest. and if that article doesn't exist you can view the page and click on the link to generate it.

*nodds* i am aware, i was just in a bit of a hurry to get it done before the deadline. I plan definitly to do articles for the Depthwalkers and Depthbreakers
