The calamity happened when the archangels betrayed the old gods and than splintered themselves into two groups the archangels and archfiends. some other notable calamity events include a worldwide wild magic surge that caused natural disasters, openings to other planes of existence, and the collapse of most pre calamity societies. The entire island of blackbranch was created during the calamity.
