A horrible cataclysm of some kind so terrifying it destroyed the world of the Architects, and either killed them all or caused them all to leave. Whatever it was left the world in ruins

Long ago, The Ancients lived and built on the world of Ludia. It was the Ancients who built the Spires of Magic, and the ancient ruins that litter the world. How long they'd been there, who they were, what they wanted, were all lost in the Great Collapse. No one knows exactly what happened, but the evidence is that it was something utterly horrifying. The ruins of the Ancients are blasted scorched holes with the shadows of Ancients burnt into the ground, if anything remains at all. Because of this horrible collapse, the Ancients disappeared, leaving only the Peble.
