Anteitshi, the High Council (ˈanðeit͡ʃi)
From the beginning of the First Age the Sun Kings in Nīwulai Valley collected around them trusted individuals with power and influence, who guidance and support was meant to keep them on the throne for a thousand years.
Under the Sun Kings
Established by the first Sun King Siyoshi in the early days of First Age, the council was meant as a collection of trusted and powerful advisors whose aid would help keep the realm powerful and prosperous. They gathered daily to the king's palace in Siyoshi Meishu, where all the important decisions were made. The yilan Temples had no representation within the council, and could not enter their meetings or influence their decisions. This meant little in practice as many of the families were faithful members of the faith, but the facade of religious neutrality was never dropped.Ruler of the Valley
All of this changed in 340 of First Age, when the Sun Kings were overthrown by the council with the crowds cheering them on. After a year of misfortune the populace had come to the conclusion all of their ills could only be blamed on the Sun King, whose only job was to support and lead them. There were rumors of the newly crowned Sun King Maiwuteishi having angered the celestials, which is why the great deities had abandoned them. Curiously the Temples of Tuashayila did little to correct these opinions.
