Zhentarim

Zhentarim is a shadowy mercenary network and trading organization known for its ruthless pursuit of power, wealth, and influence throughout the Forgotten Realms. Often referred to as the Black Network, the Zhentarim deals in arms, espionage, and clandestine operations, operating through a web of agents, spies, and mercenaries. While they claim to offer security and services to those in need, their methods are notoriously corrupt and self-serving, often willing to engage in illegal or morally questionable acts for profit.

The Zhentarim’s reach spans across the Sword Coast and beyond, with bases in major cities like Baldur’s Gate and Waterdeep, as well as hidden strongholds in the wilderness. Led by a mysterious council of powerful figures, the Zhentarim is known for its willingness to collaborate with or manipulate other factions, including the Lord’s Alliance, for their own gain. While some view them as a necessary evil in a chaotic world, others see them as a dangerous force bent on controlling the region for their own dark ambitions.
