Zanatax

A Celestial who once worked closely with Zariel. His asperations are to Tame the layers of the abyss to reduce the evil in the planes.

Origin

• He was once an angel who reported to Tyre but after seeing how the blood war was causing evil to spread between the planes he joined Zariel in her assault on the hells.
• When the assault failed Zariel was captured by the devils and Zanatax was captured by the demons.
• Zanatax became a prisoner of Orcus, Demon Lord of the dead. He grew to Loathe the demons even more than he had before but through the hate and the pain he realized that he could use orcuses strategy of controlling undead in his favor.
• Zanatax eventually escaped, he was somewhat tainted by the abyss making him darker both physically and mentally.
• He now had a new plan to eliminate the evil from the lower planes, he would take one of the most abundant resources, corpses, and turn it against the fiends.
• early in his plan he recruited a paladin named Haldir Death Blade who turned against him and captured him in a Palimpsest.

Ideaology

• Zanatax's goal is to raise an army of the dead to storm the upper layers of the abyss.
• He does dictate that his followers massacre to retrieve the bodies but he also does not tell them to not massacre.
• He is content with his followers going to grave yards or wandering war zones to raise the dead in his name. He does not care where they come from.

Interest in the party

• after the party defeated Haldir Death Blade and freed Zanatax he offered them a place at his side. which they refused.
• Farther down the line Zanatax realized he would need followers to raise his army and with the oncoming war in Tethyre he decided to recruit the party dead or alive.

Followers

• Haldir Death Blade : he was once a paladin who became a death knight after the party killed him
