A general overview of Linea, what ley is, and a verrrrrrry brief history of the packs and everything. Frazznotes!

Should be the bare minimum needed to get players/characters established and set the vibe, heavily crosslink so that interested players can use this page as a jumping point to explore the rest of the guidebook.

Setting Introduction

The fog clears, and you find yourself in the strange and wonderful world of Linea. This is a land rich in both history and wonder, where the etherial magic of the leylines flows from the earth and into your paws, and you feel the pull of the ethereal plane as its magic seeps into every fiber of your being.

Lore Linea takes place on the continent of Linea. Characters may have been born here, or come here from some faraway place. The dominant sentient species on Linea are wolves, who, through exposure to unseen veins of magic called leylines, are able to wield and channel ethereal affinities (AKA...magic!). They are also able to utilize tools and perform other actions that wouldn't be realistic for their earthly counterparts. Lore Linea uses a combination of site wide plots and player-driven stories, and you are welcome to engage with either, or both!

Linea's territories are vast and varied, with each taking the average wolf approximately 24 hours to cross entirely assuming they are well-adapted for that environment (A wolf from the swampy marshes may take longer to climb Linea's tallest peaks, for example!) . These territories are home home to a variety of real and magical wildlife, which can be discovered on our Linean Atlas on the territory pages. Humans or humanoid species have never existed on Linea. Most wildlife encountered on Linea is non-sentient, with exceptions that will be revealed through sitewide plots and documented in Deep Lore: Linean History
