Moonsong
Music has power. This is a known factor to many mages and even performers. But in our city, that power has a persistent and potent tangibility. In Moonsong, music, and to a lesser extent other forms of art, have their natural power amplified to alter the very environment. And we are experts in it's use.
Demographics
You have likely observed that many of our number are various forms of werecreatures, or similarly magicked beings. While some of this was due to the nature of our founder, and their desire to create a safe haven, it has remained as such due to the nature of the land allowing allowing ways to increase one's self control through music. You will find our people don't even bother growing wolfsbane or similar items, and only bring Cadenza with them for long trips.
Government
The city is primarily run by the Ostinato, of which I am the current head. We help ensure the best musicians, the Scale, are granted the Grand Venues, key points in the magic of the area. This ensures the magical energy of Moonsong remains potent, ensuring it runs smoothly. It also ensures the Cadenza fountains said venues are built on are attuned to musical energies the people will find useful and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, there are some smaller fountains and venues that are hidden away, and people have begun to leverage them for... Undesirable uses. Certain forms of music, and the byproducts they create, are best off left behind. Yet they have found secret places regardless, and unfortunately persist.
Defences
Defenses? Well, I suppose we do wield our considerable bardic prowess to fend off the occasional threat. Though we often don't have to. Our musicians fans tend to be all over, so few parties are of need. We tend to focus our attention more on... internal threats. Peacekeeping and such.
Assets
While we create a wide variety of useful magitech items, including specialized Coda for bardic spellcasters, our primary consistent export is Cadenza. Cadenza is a highly versatile substance, that allows people to use a portion of Moonsongs natural power even far from our shores, or simply amplify it within. It allows musics power to be amplified more effectively, and with a little treatment it can even store musical magic within it. Even those not versed in musical or magical arts can make effective use of it.
Of course, another important export of ours is our music itself. As one would imagine from the most prestigious musicians in the world, It's one of the best commodities we have to offer. Album sales and concert fees help fund a large portion of our city, as well as fan merchandise. Of course, It's the Ostinato's job to make sure the musician's needs are met, and that such business does not impact the art negatively.
History
Our nation was founded by the great Lycea Somnus, a werewolf searching for a home alongside their dragon. They came to the crystal forests of this city, and on a full moon, their dragon sang alongside her howls to keep her calm. They found the music did far more, and helped her regain full control. Thus they decided they would found their kingdom here, in this sanctuary of song.

Yes, it is a rather enjoyed one. Tis a shame the songs the two first wrote have been lost to time.
