Astravia
A powerful nation of conquest and loyalty, Astravia prospers by blessing of their goddess.
Astravia is well known for being highly advanced technologically, infinitely fertile fields, immunity to even void disease, and riches aplenty. To live in this ideal nation costs only one thing, your undying loyalty via the Curse of Alprecha. In exchange for the kingdom providing you with such luxeries, even your very life must be devoted to the king. This is quite literal, as any harm dealt to the current monarch will be done to a random citizen in their stead. This ensures that any astravian will do anything to see their kingdom prosper and be safe.
Government
Astravia is fully commited to it's monarchy, the line of Polaris. It's kings are said to be descendants of Alprcha herself, when the red star came down and fell in love with a mortal man.
No one questions the king. They are immune to retaliation, and a single dagger at their side ensures noone dares defy them, for should the king grow desperate, they can force the curse into action. Few kings are willing to do this, as loyalty is assured regardless, but it has happened before.
Defences
While the defenses of Astravia are bolstered by robots, advanced armaments, and highly trained soldiers, the truely potent ability of their soldiers is that they do not fear death. All of them know that any failiure could result in a threat to the kingdom, and thus, themselves and several others. As such, they always fight as if it is a life or death situation, and should they die, their sacrifice prevents the deaths of many more.
Tourism
Astravian citizenry is wary of outsiders, and is not fond of tourisim. those from afar may mean harm, as they do not have the same investment in the kingdom as themselves. As such, they prefer outsiders stay as such, unless they are to become astravians themselves. They will always welcome more Astravians.
Astravia and Mericidia
Astravia's primary rival is the nation of Mericidia, a similar conquering nation. Oddly enough however, the two do share some odd similarities. They have similar political systems, both utilize magic in ways that parralel each other at times, and both hold the stars and tarot cards sacred. However, it is ill advised to mention this, as any Asravian considers Mericidia heretical.
