Gost is a chaotic and self-destructive individual who hides his deeper vulnerabilities behind a veneer of partying, swearing, and carefree bravado. He’s rough around the edges, often coming off as lazy, blunt, and territorial, but beneath his bravado lies a surprisingly sharp intellect and a deep-seated desire to make sense of his place in the world. Having once been innately terrifying but now stuck in a mortal tiefling form, he struggles with resentment and self-loathing over the loss of his power. Though he initially distances himself from others, he’s slowly learning how to enjoy life again, with a hesitant affection for those who are helping him through his darker moments.
Gost is a shameless flirt with a quick wit and no tolerance for pretense, but he has a surprisingly strong internal moral code: he doesn't want to cause unintentional harm, and if he does, he'll try to make it right again. He’s a man at odds with himself, trying to reconcile his past with his present and searching for something that might make him feel whole again.

Before the Game

Gost was hired by some gang lord named Xanathar in the city of Landshallow, and his assignment was to assassinate the young lord Tekhetsio Thriyan in Lockhinge.
Prior to that assignment, Gost had been wandering from job to job in a centuries-long period of self-loathing on account of being transformed from a red dragon into a tiefling because he fucked up a deal with a devil.

For several months of the campaign, he was just called "the bartender" because even though they were dating, Tek never asked his name.
