Cloudeater
While there are many outlandish creatures and monstrosities documented to be found in Greymantle Marsh, there are luckily a few that have never been reliably proven to exist. One of these is the feathered and winged crocodile known as Cloudeater.
This being is said to be an important protector and manager of the marshlands, but can also bring destruction and sudden death to those who aren't watchful. If a fierce and sudden wind kicks up, one must find shelter to avoid being snapped up by her jaws as she flies past. The storms that often follow these winds are said to be created in her wake.
Cloudeater never stops moving, eating while on the move and biting through anything that gets in her way. Mysteriously snapped or toppled trees, sinkholes opening overnight, and unsolved disappearances have all been said to be her work.
Her most lofty claim however is to be the source of rainbows. Not only does she bring storms, but sometimes she doubles back and eats the clouds. So, when the clouds part during or after rain, that is due to her appetite, and the curving rainbow is the arc that she swims through the air.
