The Authority

The current Hierophant is Caradon Melqart who was chosen directly by the Sephira itself after the murder of Dagra Shamesh. Caradon is an even-tempered Defiant who skillfully negotiates the disparate, and frequently conflicting, personalities of the Defiant in Loma Vista to find the best solutions for all. Despite being a Leviathan, the angelic and infernal houses do not see him as part of the power discrepancy that plagues Loma Vista, primarily because he honestly cares about all the Defiant and does not play favorites.     The current Archon of Justice is Elsebet Dawn. She is the newest to her position, being elevated to her position after the shocking death of her predecessor, Zyana Achto1. Elsebet is extremely diligent in performing her duties but focuses more on punishing the guilty rather than finding justice for those wronged.   Renethia Hariel is the Archon of Blessings and the longest serving of all the Archons, being appointed by Thanea Araton. Renethia performs her duties with relentless enthusiasm2 and her seniority grants her more power in the assignment of Royals and the arrangement of marriages than the commandments state. While she is a genuinely happy person, it would be unwise to offend her.   The latest Archon of Peace is Lukas Kyrios. Unlike his predecessors, he has managed to form a good relationship with Alpharus Zeruel to the benefit of the Domain. A quintessential Kyrios, Lukas puts every drop of energy and focus into performing his duties and the Domain is safer for it3. His relentless investigations have not only stopped many attempts at infiltrations and open attacks by forces of the Apocalypse, but also discouraged many foolish amateur mystics from dabbling with Apocalyptic texts and relics.
1There was considerable scandal about this, and the details of Zyana’s death have been expertly hushed up. Whatever the details, they appear to have put Elsebet in a precarious position that she does not enjoy.     2Trust me on this.   3If only he had assumed his position earlier. So many things would have been different.
