Valrah was born as a princess into a royal snow elf family and blessed with draconic blood and spellcasting abilities as was her mother... she thinks? However a war in recent memory has dismantled her kingdom before she ever properly experienced her birthright.
Ninjas?
Valrah still young and wandering from town to town showing off her noble heritage perhaps too frequently, found herself kidnapped by shadow monks hoping to extract a ransom.
They learned it would take a lot of time and effort to find someone to ransom to and she wasn't well missed. She used her time to befriend a disenfranchised member of the monastery (Mallerrie) and they escaped together heading south from the mountains into the unknown.
"Oh Honey..."
Valrah now an orphan who finds herself wandering to win friends she may one day call her advisors and subjects and restore or reinvent her kingdom she prepared her whole life to be a part of.
She is occasionally burdened by the thought that perhaps her frequent inability to win allies is from shortcomings in herself as a person rather than the nature of the world which she knows so little about outside of tales of heroes and royalty.
