Dragonborn

As any dragonborn will proudly tell you, their people trace their heritage back to the mighty dragons of the ancient world. Whether they were created by the dragon gods, hatched of mortal dragons, or some magical creation by powerful ancient dragons, the dragonborn have existed on this world for thousands of years.   The dragonborn are mightily built - often standing over six-and-a-half feet tall and weighing upwards of three-hundred pounts. They lack the wings and tails of their ancestors, but are still adorned with small, vibrant scales that come in a variety of prismatic and metallic tones said to match their ancestral dragons. Their hands and feet end in sharp talons, with three fingers and a thumb on each hand.   Dragonborn are typically tenacious. They value hard work and skill, and hate to fail, and work at something until they succeed or all is lost. The strength of this drive is matched only by the curiousity of humans and the comfort-seeking nature of halflings. Each dragonborn has a role in their clan or family group, and is expected to fulfill the duties of that role with honesty and vigor. Seeking a station above your own is considered too ambitious and attention seeking, and is frowned upon almost as much as failing to do your duties from lack of drive.   As part of the peace treaties that marked the end of the wars of the 3rd Era, the dragonborn homelands across the sea were joined into Dwarden as vassal states. While this relationship has been beneficial, it's favored the dwarves greatly, and with each year that passes, more and more dragonborn seek independence. Their cultural priority for small clans and broodmates can cause friction with the dwarves, as dragonborn can be hard to convince to participate in matters of the greater nation.
