Gray Elves
Dead before the sickness

Made by Nightcafe
In the third era of Llagnyn, the realm of Decay is filled with the dead and dying. Among the many lost peoples of this realm are the gray elves, children of souls in new bodies.
Awaiting Death
"I passed a gray elf in the street/He looked to me with a lost light"When a dead soul takes possession of a new body, forming a Past Life, the body is left in a state of combined infancy, maturity, and death. These changes affect their children as well. Their bodies have a weaker hold on their soul, causing a Past Life to be a near-definite in their future. The lesser connection to the soul causes their bodies to age faster, making a gray elf of ten look to be in his thirties. Their tendency to form a Past Life at a young age often makes them even more despised than the dwarves themselves. Shops will refuse to give wares to children who will be dead soon enough, and many blame the gray elves themselves for wanting to give a die. Even the dwarves find it hard to love a gray elf knowing that their death is impending. Unlike the dwarves, gray elves are not mature enough to even know to make communities, and often end up as urchins on the streets until their memories start to fade.
