Qualifications
Becoming a HOO requires going through an apprenticeship as a HOOGMOE. To be considered for this apprenticeship an individual must be:
- Be of at least LAAKROMYI or higher.
- Able to work well with others.
- Able to use your initiative.
- Patient and able to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Able to accept criticism and work well under pressure.
- Thorough and pay attention to detail.

The work is typically done in an office within a government building.
Provided Services
Typically a HOO is expected to do the following as part of their day-to-day work:
- Put into practice government plans for public services.
- Prepare and present reports.
- Communicate with the public.
- Advise government representatives.
- Manage a budget.
- Handle a caseload and update files.
