Guilds
The [guild] are a recognised political force made up of skilled artisans within the [empire].
Structure
Each recognised guild is headed by a [master] [cooperate] who is elected by the [counsel] [cooperate]. He is entitled to a seat in the [senate] where their guild headquarters resides.
All members of the [counsel] [cooperate] have earnt the title of [expert]. They are chosen by their peers to perform aditional duties withon the guild. They are responsible for guild finances, events, and recruitment.
A [expert], has proven mastery of their craft. They are entitled to open a shop in their home provence and train [student]. To maintain this entitlement a [expert] must continue to show their skill at their craft, and pay yearly guild fees. If they wish to take on [student] they must purchase their own store and express an interest to the [counsel] [cooperate].
A [trader] has completed their training and proved their compitence in their craft. They are entitled to work for any [expert] for wages. To become a [expert] they must create a masterworkand present it to the [counsel] [cooperate].
[student] are the students who have completed their formal education at age 14, whose educator has highlighted an aptitude for the work. They are recruited by the [counsel][cooperate] and assigned to a [expert]. They work for the [expert] in exchange for housing and meals, gaining the skills and experience to become a [trader] within 6 years.
Public Agenda
The explicit goals of a [guild] is:
- To teach the craft of a [guild] to new mewmbers.
- To create an ideal climate for it's members to master their craft.
- To create a baseline of quality for skilled labour.
- To give patrons an expectation of quality based on the members established level within the [guild].
- To create a place for fellow craftsmen to share immovation and air greivences.
