╚═ ═╤ ┌┤ is a cuneiform used by the clans of the great river, broadleaf forest, and Taiga. It is created by pressing a bone stylus into wet clay. The characters can also be carved into leather, wood, or stone. The oldest marks were created as pictograms and bear a resemblance to the object they're portraying e.g. the mark for a dog(╒╤╛) or deer(╥╥╜). Newer marks are more abstract showing how they are related to things, e.g. the mark for bronze(╔═╛) is a combination of copper(╒═) and tin(═╛), allowing the reader to understand newer concepts.
Unlike other writing systems used on the continent the marks of ╚═ ═╤ ┌┤ offer no guidance on how the word is pronounced. This is because this writing system is used by multiple different but related languages making a consistent pronunciation system almost impossible. However, this does mean that the user must memorise all the marks limiting literacy in the writing system.
