Character Classes in Brohd Zellor
Types of Character in Brohd Zellor and Dwarven Elsewheres on Summer's Tale
CLASSES OF BROHD ZELLOR
- Experts and Commoners are the most widespread and populous classes of Brohd Zellor. Dwarven manual laborers and experts in various things (often gems, weapons and arms, blacksmithing, etc.) populate the cities extensively
- Fighters predominate, among the Dwarves, many often trained martially by Dwarven militias
- Barbarians are more common in the outlands
- As Brohd Zellor is a place so influenced by the Gods, Clerics (at least among the fully classed Dwarves) are fairly common (and by the same tokens Paladins, but their role is much more niche
- Those that travel the outlands, and most of the “Travelers” are usually Rangers, or less often Scouts
- Note on Dwarven Scouts: Incredibly important to their culture, especially on Brohd Zellor, but held in high esteem and prestige anywhere Dwarves live. Relying on them to travel across the mountains on long journeys. Unless possessing similar skills (as rangers might), Dwarves usually need a scout.
- There are two type os Dwarven scouts: Military and “Adventure” (Yzza, or “guide”). Both are skilled in wilderness travel, but with different emphasis: Tactical Knowledge and Survival Knowledge.
- The Jarr-Zekk are very rare, found only among the Dwarves, but there are more of them on Brohd Zellor than possibly all other material places put together. They work their magic deep underground and come up only for particular missions or occasions.
- The Marshal, as a leader in war, sometimes leads the training and battle-readiness (as well as battle itself) of Dwarven armies
- Some Dwarven warriors serve a lord or patron, fighting for his honor until their death, as would a Samurai… (This is a Dwarven version of the samurai…)
- Arcane magic is far less known to Brohd Zellor, with the exception of the Bard in the cities… Those who do study the arcane often put it to use in the form of a War Mage, in the use of battle
