Waelsaung

The Mighty. The Amazing. The Feared. The Wonderous. The Bloody The Joyful.

The Waelsaung are possibly Lislows' most enigmatic and strange ethnicity, which is something of its own. Where they originated from, and how they got into the northern mountains has more myth and fairytale around it than fact, but it's been theorized that they may be the original Lislanders the Munraite were offshoots from. That is also the theorized reason for their never-ending blood feud between nations. [br

Like the Fullhumines, they preferred to stay secluded in their mountain-nest, only really ever leaving to test themselves against the Munraite. Even after the Burning of Souls as they watched New Talthoria go up in flames, or when the invaders flooded out of the north and began laying waste.

With their proximity to New Talthoria, they were amongst the first hit by the wave, and instead of losing control like most of the others, they cheered and doubled down in their mountains. Developing their abilities and restructured themselves, unbeknownst to the others. Between that and their constant conflicts with the Munraite, they achieved a vicious reputation for being heartless killers who laugh and dance as a single warrior could fight entire units of others.

As the years passed they became less restricted on access in and out of the Waelsaung Mountains, but never truly felt comfortable or welcome in many places and so they resigned themselves to staying in the north. Though after seeing as the continent was falling apart, the High Queen allowed certain individuals who were the best of their trades or prominent Fighters and Casters to begin offering services to the rest of the nations. They ended up being very instrumental in the splitting of the Munrai Empire and the subsequent formation of the Tetraites.

In modern times they are still seclusive, and it's rare to see more than a single Waelsaung past the Never-Forest, but they are generally welcoming to newcomers who are pleasant and enjoy the festivities.
