Shaping Reality Itself
While once upon a time, controlling the very elements and forces of nature was just in legend and myth or the odd happenstance around a shaman. Today it is the backbone and SoulBurning standard of the Lislander Society of Lislow.
The base ability is a Lislanders the most important and unique ability evolved by them in the Common Burning Era. By using their SoulEnergy in their BurningPool, a Lislander can make, shape, and control the base force of reality's elements. While most Lislanders can do basic manipulations through their natural psychic bond, more complicated and intricate control or altering requires more specific knowledge and skill. Modernly it is used in everything from militaristic applications, technological advancement, and everyday task use.
Elements and their Aspects.
The Ei'tarnium on Lislow has adapted greatly to bond with the base Elements of reality; Light and Dark, Fire and Water, Earth and Air, and when manipulated can create, alter or destroy them in ways mostly limited by the Burner's ability and creativity. The base six Elements are easiest to manipulate due to their general abundance and natural place in the world, but a practiced user with the knowledge can use their manipulation to change the base Elements into something else. An Aspect.
By either combining elements or refining one, an Element of different Aspects can be brought forward. For example; Fire can be turned into Lava (being combined with Earth). Water can be refined and manipulated as either boiling steam or freezing ice. The limitations and combinations are generally set by the Burner's knowledge, but talent and Natural Affinity can play a large part.Natural Affinity.
There has yet to be a full scientific explanation of how it exactly occurs, (there are many theories about psychic bonds, ancestry, locale, and surroundings,) regardless due to the complex series of events that led to the abilities of SoulBurning itself, and how Ei'tarnium interacts with Lislanders, each Lislander is born with usually a singular, but sometimes dual affinity. It is often hereditary and based on ethnicity and region, but this has been proven only to be a mitigating factor and not the deciding one.
Each Lislander will feel a greater connection to their Element more so than the others, but it's not impossible to learn them, there will usually just be a limit to the manipulations, except for under extreme cases of particularly powerful SoulBurners.Effect
With Eitarnium Massu in their BurningPool, a Lislander can use the bonded psychic link with it to burn it up into a manipulative SoulEnergy, changing the Eitarnium Massu into a pure force of an Element the Lislander can shape, form, change, and control. The affected SoulEnergy can be manipulated in a variety of ways from being easily summoned and controlled by the user, to manipulating another SoulEnergy, too many creative and intricate appliances.
Side/Secondary Effects
Burning Ei'tarnium Massu in any way will often leave an identifiable trail of residue energy and getting any of the steps wrong can result in loss of control, or violent reactions from the Eitarnium.
Manifestation
While it varies upon element, it will often just look like a swirl of energy, similar in form to the element being summoned, and gain physical manifestation depending on the use and skill of the user.

All Elemental Control comes from burning the Ei'tarnium Massu in their BurningPool and how it has bonded and evolved with the Lislander and its surroundings. Skilled SoulBurners can draw upon the natural sources of their elemental affinity and replenish theirBurningPool faster than it naturally would on its own.
Discovery
While the Talthorians always had abilities that allowed them to commit miraculous seeming acts, the Lislanders were rather limited to a shamanistic application until The Sacking of the North caused all the ethnicities to evolve rapidly and each growing an affinity to an elemental depending on place and circumstance of their birth and life. One by one each faction discovered their growing control over their surroundings and quickly began finessing their abilities and techniques

SoulEnergy. It's always needed for any Elemental Manipulation, but the amount needed from the BurningPool depends on the user's intended outcome.
