The First Trial

History

The First Ritual is one of the oldest traditions in Lindrinor. Created by the first druids of Durantia, Queen of the Forest, the ritual aims to make those that pass it prove themselves to the Goddess of Life. Since its creation, many sapient beings passed through it and achieved enlightenment while doing so.

Execution

In order to perform this ritual, one needs to mix Magical Clay and Life Essence in a stone bowl and say the words "Oomba ben cre le mi, onk ha tirou mikale cro bardi cre lo pree" which means "Goddess I beg to thee, let me prove myself in order to be free" in draconic.   After that, each of the participants' will pass out and dream about something about their past (the DM must creatively build this part of the campaign). They must go through it (whatever it is) and, in the end, confront a hard truth. They pass the trial if they accept the truth in their hearts.    Example with Party 1 (DnD 5e):
  • Chama: She wakes up surrounded by a forest on fire. She hears whispered voices saying "murderer, traitor and outcast". After running a little through the blazed woods, she finds some of the druids from her old circle. They claim she's death itself, and arm themselves in order to take on their revenge. Chama passes if she surrenders (accepting her role in this story) or killing the druids.
