Skill House Rules

  • Int and Wis ability checks are made using bonus action
  • If you’re proficient with it, you can use animal handling to befriend a non-hostile creature (DC is high).
  • If you’re proficient in medicine, you can heal your proficiency bonus of someone's hp with a use of a healer's kit (1 short rest). You may only use it once per player, per day (24h).
  • Desguiser’s kit requires a performance roll instead of a deception.
  • I use two more optional skills on my tables: Geopolitics (Int) and Combat Expertise (Int).
  • The “Help” action requires proficiency on that skill to be used (It is also possible to use this action if the player makes a good point on how he's going to help).
Intimidation
  • Suppose you kill a minion creature in a single turn. In that case, you may roll intimidation (Only if you’re proficient) as a bonus action to try and intimidate some of the other minions (Quantity will vary according to the roll).
  • Intimidation can be used in combat to give the effects of a 1st level "Cause Fear" spell and will not attack that PC. Although, it can approach enemies. 
  • Depending on who the check is against, an strength-based (at least +3) character makes intimidation checks with advantage
