Anatomy

Osthions have skin covered by hydro-dynamics scales that makes them good swimmers. There are a couple of guills in the side of their necks which allow them to breath underwater. The heads of Osthions are fish-like. They also have a lateral line.

Ecology and Habitats

Differently than most Iridios, osthions are aquatic beings. Almost all of them live in the ocean and their preferred habitat is coralreefs.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Osthions have a wide variety of dietary needs. Some of them are fierce predators while others enjoy eating seaweed and the likes. There are even some who are capable of eating corals.

Social Structure

Osthions are one of the most social species amongst the Iridios. Most of them (specially the little ones) live in big shoals that can house up to a million individuals. Even so, some Osthions are solitary creatures.

Average Intelligence

Osthions are definetly the dumbest species amongst the Iridios. They are inocent and instictive creatures. They can think like normal humanoids, but their tiny brains are not capable of complex rational thinking. Although, they can be very cunning and perceptive.

Osthions can feel others nearby Osthions through their lateral line. This allows them to work really well as a group.

Most Osthions are small (no bigger than a halfling) and scrawny humanoids. Nonetheless, a significant share of them are can reach the size of normal humans and elves. They do not have lots of muscles and their skeleton is the most fragile amongst all Iridios.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Osthions' skin usually have a pale-blueish color and you can see a little bit of the bones through it.
