Draknath - Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs are a diverse group of creatures that live in the remote Ralbun Island. They can be classified into two main groups based on their hip structure: the Saurischia and the Ornithischia. Saurischia: This group includes the "lizard-hipped" dinosaurs and is further divided into two subgroups:   a. Theropods: These were bipedal carnivores and included some of the most well-known dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor, and Allosaurus. They had sharp teeth, clawed hands, and often had feathers or proto-feathers. Some theropods eventually evolved into birds.   b. Sauropodomorphs: These were large, long-necked herbivores such as Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus (formerly known as Brontosaurus), and Diplodocus. They had small heads, long necks and tails, and massive bodies. Sauropodomorphs were the largest land animals to have ever lived.   Ornithischia: This group consists of the "bird-hipped" dinosaurs and includes a wide variety of herbivorous dinosaurs. They had a unique hip structure with backward-pointing pubic bones. Ornithischians can be further divided into several subgroups:   a. Stegosaurs: These dinosaurs had rows of bony plates and spikes along their backs, such as Stegosaurus. They were quadrupedal and had small heads with toothless beaks.   b. Ankylosaurs: Ankylosaurs were heavily armored dinosaurs with bony plates and knobs covering their bodies. They also had club-like tails for defense, as seen in Ankylosaurus and Euoplocephalus.   c. Ceratopsians: Ceratopsians were herbivorous dinosaurs characterized by their elaborate frills and horns on their heads. Famous examples include Triceratops, Styracosaurus, and Protoceratops.   d. Hadrosaurs: Also known as "duck-billed" dinosaurs, hadrosaurs were herbivorous dinosaurs with a distinctive duck-like bill and specialized dental batteries for chewing plant matter. They walked on both two and four legs. Examples include Edmontosaurus and Parasaurolophus.   e. Marginocephalians: Marginocephalians included dinosaurs such as Pachycephalosaurus and Triceratops. They had bony frills or domes on their heads and are divided into two groups: pachycephalosaurs (thick-skulled dinosaurs) and ceratopsians.
