Exotic Weapons
Exotic weapons are one that aren't commonly seen in daily life, and require specialized trained to use. To become proficient in an exotic weapon a player must study in the weapon using the Training downtime rules from Xanathar's Guide to Everything. Firearms also count a type of exotic weapon.

Improved Critical, Light, StrikerThe cestus is a glove of leather or thick cloth that covers the wielder from mid-finger to mid-forearm. The close combat weapon is reinforced with metal plates over the fingers and often lined with wicked spikes along the backs of the hands and wrists.

This weapon may be considered a simple weapon for the monk Martial Arts feature. Also, when you deal damage with this weapon you may choose to have the weapon deal piercing damage instead of it's normal damage type.
