Class Features

Sealing of the Coven

Your studies into the sympathetic nature of magic allow you to create a magical bond with other spell casters to strengthen your arcane abilities. Starting when you choose this archetype you choose up to two allies with the Spellcasting feature. You and these allies become members of your coven. You may change the members of your coven by completing a 24 hour long ritual. During the ritual three willing allies with the Spellcasting feature must spend the entire time communing and mediating with the forces of magic that surround you. When the ritual is completed each member leaves all previous covens and become linked in a coven using this feature. A person can only be apart of one coven at any time.   You create an arcane connection between your coven members that reaches out 15 feet from you. When you cast a spell while within range of another coven member, and they are not incapacitated, you gain a +1 to your spell attack modifier and spell save DC. If both of your coven member are within your range, and none of the members are incapacitated, all members of your coven instead gain +1 bonus to their spell attack modifier and spell save DC when casting a spell. A creature cannot benefit from this feature twice.   Additionally, whenever a member of your coven moves more than 10 feet in any direction you may use your reaction to move up to half of your move speed in their direction. You must move in a straight line if possible taking the most direct route towards their new position.   At 10th level, the range of this feature increases from 15 feet to 30 feet, and when you use your reaction to move towards a coven member you may use your full movement instead of half.

Coven Magic

At 2nd level, the magic of your coven comes more natural to you. The gold and time you must spend to copy a spell known by one of your coven members into your spellbook is halved.   Additionally, if you choose a coven member can recover expended spell slots instead of yourself when you use your Arcane Recovery feature.

Empowered Casting

When you reach 6th level, the connection of your coven grows to a point that allows you to empower each other. As a reaction, when a coven member within 30 feet of you, that you can see, casts a spell of 1st level or higher you can expend a spell slot. When you expend a spell slot in this way add the spell slot level of the expended spell to the spell slot level of the original spell. The spell is now cast as though a spell slot level of the total was used to cast the spell.   For example if, your coven member cast magic missile using a 1st level spell slot, and you expended a 2nd level spell slot the spell would be cast as a 3rd level spell.   You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Deep Covenant

Starting at 10th level, your covenant becomes bound by the arcane energies of the universe granting you a certain amount of foresight and arcane perspective. All members of your Coven gain the following benefits:
  • Coven members gain advantage on saving throws against spells you or another coven member would cast.
  • Whenever you cast a spell with a range of Touch or Self you may have it affect a member of your coven, as long as you can see them.
  • Whenever you cast a spell that requires concentration another member of your coven may choose to maintain the concentration. Each member can only concentrate on a single spell.

Blood Pact

At 14th level, the bond with your coven reaches its strongest point and you are empowered when their lives are threatened. Whenever a member of your coven falls in battle you are able to draw on their strength to avenge them. As long as a member of your coven has 0 Hit Points or is incapacitate, but not dead, spells you cast are cast at one level higher than the level of the spell slot expended to cast the spell.
