Antimagic

Antimagic is as the name implies, a force that dulls, siphons, or nullifies magic properties and use. The ore it is found in is called Soul Ore, and can at times be found near deposits of Limora Ore. The close proximity lessens the effects of raw Limora ore, which has given rise to gear infused with the Soul ore to create antimagic gear. This gear isn't fool -proof, but it slows The Unraveling Effect enough to give workers and miners more time to work around it before having to be replaced with a new shift.
There are several variants of antimagic.
1. Soul Ore is the rarest, where it is has the strongest antimagic effect. Harnessing it within metals such as iron, (often referred to as "irons" to avoid the term antimagic*)allows for control over stifling magic of even living beings. It is so rare, however, that it cannot be scaled in production. It is most known to be used in cutting magic off a magicborn under trial or in holding for a crime, but given there are more practical methods (such as gagging and tying hands together) most magicborn do not need such drastic measure to be placed under control. Thus, Soul ore is reserved for only the most powerful of magicborn, which may not need vocal and runic gestures to conjure and control magic.
2. Limited/tainted soul ore, where it is mixed with other material innately, and thus has a "dulling" effect. This is the variant used for handling gear for raw limora stone. It's most malleable. It is not good enough to shut off a magicborn's power, however. It could dull them, and as such has been used in some areas as a training mechanism or disciplinery within academies.
3. Antimagic water. In select few parts of the world, there are pockets of ocean, lakes, and rivers where antimagic seems to be blended into the water and soil itself. Stepping in removes all connection if magicborn.
*In some societies, referring to anything as "antimagic" was disrespectful if magic was part of rituals and/or local theology.
