Yellow Mold Jelly

Biological Traits


A mold jelly is made up of amoeboid cells that aggregate into a singular plasmoid, which can slowly move as necessary to seek nutrients. The color is generally off-white but can range towards bright yellow and can be anywhere from a few inches to a foot across.

The jelly generally grows on rotting wood or plant debris.

Mold jelly can be cultivated in debris piles in moist, darkened areas.

Uses, Products & Exploitation


Mold jellys are combined with yeast to create a paste that hardens in vinegar. Given time to dissolve into the vinegar, it creates an effervescent beverage called Oskaremostra /ɒːskʔærˈʔemɒːstræ/.
