The Desert Devils (fesjiːnk ɒːlluːtiː)

The "Desert Devils" is the modern name given to the mythical and savage rulers of vi'Ishan prior to the Cataclysm.

Structure

Mersaiyin ruled the Pantheon with an Iron Fist. His sons and daughter were given reign over their own areas of Ublishan.

Culture

By the time of the Cataclysm, the Desert Devils were cruel and hedonistic rulers. They quickly and brutally struck down any notion of dissent and treated the inhabitants of Ublishan as their playthings.

Disbandment

As with all of the God-King pantheons, the Cataclysm brought an end to Mersaiyin's family.

Divine Origins

After the God-Kings vanquished Old Gods, they each took to their own corners of the world. Mersaiyin took control of Ublishan and sent his children across the desert to take hold of various locations throughout the great desert.

Priesthood

The particulars of the priesthoods differed, depending on which of the "Devils" the priests belonged to, and there was often rivalry between the different sects, as well as within the sects. Above all else, the Devils valued those who produced results at suitable cost, with no care for the morality of the efforts.

Priests, therefore, were ambitious, conniving, and ruthless–the darkest souls of the nation.

Sects

While all of the Devils, their priests, and the inhabitants of Ublishan owed ultimate allegiance and deference to Mersaiyin, each of the Devils oversaw their own governments and priesthoods, to run as they saw fit, so long as Mersaiyin received his just dues.
